From receiving his very first flying disc as a child in 1952 to helping shape the rules, culture, and organizations that built modern disc golf, Stork has truly seen it all. In this conversation, he shares stories from the earliest days of flying disc competition, designing games with friends as a kid, winning a car in 1974 while competing in disc golf and DDC, working at Wham-O during some of its most important years, and helping guide organizations like the PDGA and WFDF from the ground up.
More than just a history lesson, this episode is an honest, funny, and deeply personal conversation with someone whose fingerprints are all over the sport we know today. Stork’s humility, humor, and incredible memory make this a must-listen for anyone who wants to understand where disc golf came from and the people who helped shape it along the way.

Stork’s note on how “streaming” was first considered by Steve Dodge and the response was “people don’t wanna watch, they wanna play”… I’m recuperating from my second broken foot bone this year and I really do wanna play, but I also have more time watch many Jomez and DGPT videos – but now I’m torn between those and catching up on The Out of Production Podcast!
